Creating Memories at the Compassionate Cafe: A Family Gathering at Princess Pavilions

This drop-in session was a wonderful opportunity for individuals and families of all generations to come together and create meaningful memorial decorations for the Christmas Tree Festival.

Recently, the Companionship Cafe took place at the beautiful Princess Pavilions, set in a welcoming public open space.

People of all ages came along, sharing stories and memories of their pets and loved ones who have passed away. It was heartening to see these conversations flow naturally, bridging generations and creating a sense of community among friends.

The afternoon was not just about making ornaments; it was about cherishing memories and honouring those we’ve lost. Children, parents, and grandparents sat side by side, crafting together and sharing laughter, tears, and stories

The success of this gathering has inspired the Companionship Cafe to go on a roadshow in 2026! We will be at the Princess Pavilions on February 22, May 31, August 23, and November 29, from 2 to 4 PM. These sessions will continue to be a place where individuals and families can come to talk about grief and loss, crafting and sharing memories together.

We value a space for people of all ages to have a space to share their feelings and experiences. We invite you to join us at our future Compassionate Cafe sessions, where connection, creativity, and community will continue to flourish.

Thank you to everyone who made the last gathering so special; your presence enriched our experience and reminded us of the power of coming together in remembrance and love
