NODAC - No One Dies Alone - Cornwall

January’s Companionship Café felt like a warm, gentle hug. In partnership with local therapists, we spent the afternoon slowing down, sharing stories and offering simple acts of care. Abbey Myners set a soothing tone with her chakra sound relaxation chair and Reiki, while Becky Payne’s calm, attentive shoulder and head massages helped people release tension and settle into the space.

We also took a quiet moment to honour the trees lost in Cornwall’s storms by colouring pictures of them — a small, grounding ritual that opened gentle conversation about loss and resilience. The room was full of listening, honest sharing and compassionate company, and we finished with a short circle where many people said they felt lighter and better able to cope after being there. It was a peaceful, restorative afternoon — thank you to everyone who came and to our practitioners for holding such tender presence. If you’d like to join future cafés, we’d love to see you.
