If you’ve found yourself caring for someone you love at the end of life and are feeling overwhelmed, not knowing what to expect or how to help – we are here to help. We provide you with a map – a way of finding a way through when you feel lost and isolated and don’t know where to turn.
If you receive the right support, you can learn to live with really unbearable realities. You can begin to support yourself and the way you respond to painful situations and manage it with practical, emotional and spiritual tools that make all the difference to you and the person you love.
We invite you to take part in this safe, heart-centred, in-person day of learning that teaches hands-on comfort skills, emotional presence, and gentle rituals – so you can feel confident and supported when at the bedside of your loved one, friend or neighbour.
The four stages of dying – Learn what to expect at the end of life through the 4 stages of dying – and how to support ensuring a peaceful transition
Healing and soothing touch – Respectful, easy-to-use tools and gentle-touch techniques to promote relaxation and comfort at the end of life.
Deep listening & tender conversations – Practice presence, compassionate listening and simple ways to hold difficult conversations and offer emotional and spiritual support.
Facilitating a bedside vigil – Practical planning and presence for vigil situations: pacing, supporting family, managing sleep/rest, and small rituals for transition.
Courses run from 10am to 4.30pm and are held at the Zedshed at Jubilee Wharf, Penryn; A calm, light-filled space overlooking the water.
