Tender Loving Care

Caring for the Dying - Holistic Learning Day

Welcome to our compassionate day of learning to support friends and family members through the art of gentle dying.

If you’ve found yourself caring for someone you love at the end of life and are feeling overwhelmed, not knowing what to expect or how to help – we are here to help. We provide you with a map – a way of finding a way through when you feel lost and isolated and don’t know where to turn.

If you receive the right support, you can learn to live with really unbearable realities. You can begin to support yourself and the way you respond to painful situations and manage it with practical, emotional and spiritual tools that make all the difference to you and the person you love.

We invite you to take part in this safe, heart-centred, in-person day of learning that teaches hands-on comfort skills, emotional presence, and gentle rituals – so you can feel confident and supported when at the bedside of your loved one, friend or neighbour.

Together you will learn…

Who is this day of learning for?

Delivered on-site for convenience, the day combines reflective exercises, practical tools and scenario-based learning so staff and volunteers can practice conversations, recognise spiritual and emotional needs, and respond with confidence and sensitivity. This hands-on approach reduces anxiety, improves communication with residents and families, and strengthens team cohesion around a shared, person-centred approach.

This course exceeded my expectations! The holistic approach to end-of-life care opened my eyes to the emotional and spiritual aspects of dying. I learned practical tools that I can use in my future practice as a doula, especially in facilitating bedside vigils. The trainers were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, and I feel truly inspired to make a difference in the lives of those facing the end of life. The course was emotive, kind and compassionate and beautifully held. So much love and care in the room and perfectly timed.
