Caring for the dying; Holistic End of Life Education Course

Join Anna and Christina for this transformative education day which helps to take the “sting” out of death and dying. Through creativity and intention, this unique course shares the ancient wisdom of “gentle dying” alongside ways to bring compassionate support to friends, neighbours and loved ones at the end of life. This engaging one-day experience offers four heartfelt modules which are crafted in to a nourishing day of reflection and self-care.

Who is the course for?

This course is ideal for people who are caring for friends, neighbours & family members with a life limiting condition or for anyone who is interested in becoming an end of life companion / Soul Midwife. This course is a simplified version of Soul Midwifery in association with the School of Soul Midwives in Dorset and offers the first step on your diploma if this is the path for you. The course is also a stand-alone course and welcomes anyone with a good heart.

Course Content

4 Stages of Dying

Gain a deep understanding of the holistic diagnostic framework related to death and dying. This module will enlighten participants on what to expect during the dying process, enabling caregivers to provide comfort and reassurance. Learn how to support individuals and families through each stage, ensuring a more peaceful transition.

Soul Midwife Toolbox

Discover the invaluable tools housed within the Soul Midwife bag that are essential for holistic end-of-life care. Participants will explore simple and effective techniques, including soothing and therapeutic touch methods that promote relaxation and comfort. These tools empower caregivers to offer meaningful support tailored to the individual’s needs.

Deep Listening and Tender Conversations

Learn the art of being present for those difficult and sensitive conversations that often arise at the end of life. This module emphasizes the importance of deep listening, compassion, and openness, teaching participants how to answer challenging questions with grace and ways to hold space for another. Participants will learn to provide emotional and spiritual support through nurturing dialogue and simple techniques that fosters connection and understanding.

How to Facilitate a Bedside Vigil

Understand the principles of creating and holding a compassionate and sacred space for individuals as they approach their final days. This module promotes the art of “gentle dying,” teaching participants how to facilitate bedside vigils that honour the dignity of the dying process. Learn techniques to create an atmosphere of peace and comfort that allows loved ones to say goodbye in a heartfelt, sacred and meaningful way.

Anna Sadler

Anna Sadler

Anna Sadler is a compassionate and heart-cantered Soul Midwife and TLC trainer who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the course from being alongside friends, neighbours and loved ones on an end of life pathway.

As a trained yoga and meditation teacher, Anna emphasizes the importance of mindfulness and inner peace in the journey of dying, providing practical techniques to alleviate stress and promote comfort for both individuals and their families. Additionally, she is a certified Reiki practitioner, offering gentle energy healing to support emotional and physical well-being.

With a deep commitment to reducing the fear associated with dying, Anna empowers caregivers and family members to create a nurturing environment for those in their final days.

Tina Murt

Christina Murt

Christina Murt is a seasoned healthcare professional with over 30 years of experience as a registered nurse. Her extensive background in nursing has provided her with a deep understanding of the complexities of patient care, particularly during end-of-life situations.

Christina is also a fully trained Soul Midwife and a TLC (Tender Loving Care) trainer, dedicated to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to support those at the end of life.

In addition to her nursing and midwifery practice, Christina is a certified complementary therapist, integrating holistic approaches to enhance the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of her clients. With a passion for reducing fear and anxiety surrounding death and dying, Christina strives to create compassionate communities where individuals feel supported and understood during their final journey.

Together with Anna, Christina is dedicated to building compassionate communities that honour the transformative process of dying.
